How to Choose Your First Weapon

- Playstyle — Aggressive? Defensive? Ranged options?
- Difficulty — Some weapons have steeper learning curves
- Scaling — Match your weapon to your stat investment

Understanding Weapon Scaling
Each weapon scales with specific stats. The first stat listed is the primary scaling (strongest bonus), the second is secondary. Focus on your weapon's primary stat for maximum damage.
Example: Katana scales with Heart (primary) and Skill (secondary). A katana build should prioritize Heart after meeting basic requirements.
Use the build simulator to see exact damage numbers for different stat allocations.

Our build guide includes templates for each weapon type. Quick recommendations:
- Katana — Heart + light armor for balanced approach
- Spear — Constitution + medium armor for survivability
- Dual Swords — Skill + light armor for aggression
- Odachi — Strength + heavy armor for trading hits
